The new various artists compilation ‘SEQUENCE3’ has been released today also featuring a Field Rotation piece. ‘Breathing Slowly’ is my contribution to the free download digital-only collection of electro-acoustic and drone pieces curated by the web-zine and newly formed label Futuresequence. Completely built with just two short Lo-Fi piano samples that I recorded two years ago during the recordings for the ‘Acoustic Tales’ album it’s one of the most minimalistic pieces that I created so far regarding the source material. Never thought that the hiss-laden source would allow a release-able result after countless sessions of heavily treating and processing it - but there it is! Let’s see whether some of the other ‘hopeless’ recordings that are hidden somewhere in the darkest folders of my hard-drive might end in something rather audible as well some time… wish me luck!

The handmade limited CD-R Edition of Why things are different and also the handmade limited CD Edition of And tomorrow I will sleep sold out quickly through Hibernate Recordings - the vinyl re-issues of these releases are now available for pre-order through Denovali Records.

And tomorrow I will sleep is now released on 12” 180g vinyl LP - by the way an amazing format to present Ian Hazeldine’s wonderful cover photograph. Why things are different is released on the lovely 10” vinyl format. Both re-issues are available on black vinyl (200 copies each) and on limited ultraclear vinyl (100 copies each) and include a free download code.

Pre-orders can be placed over at Denovali Records (DE), Norman Records (UK) or feel free to wait until my own store goes live the next months.

Through Flaming Pine’s Soundcloud account you can stream my contribution to Rivers Home called Kielerfjorden can be streamed below. I’ve been living near the Kiel Fjord (Kielerfjorden) since I was born. The sounds of the shipyard, ferries and cruisers are part of the daily life, the cranes of the shipyard can be seen from my bedroom window and the sea gulls are all around. The cold air streaming in from the Baltic Sea brings that certain scent of the sea. Nevertheless it is an often grey place, sometimes even dull. Then the water and the sky have this same oppressive colour bringing nothing but rain and storm. Well, ‘Kielerfjorden’ is kind of a farewell piece as I’m leaving this place now.

September 25th marks World Rivers Day, and to celebrate this special moment Flaming Pines is releasing the first chapter of its 10 three inch -cd series Rivers Home.

The Underexposed series on Fluid Radio is a project that combines music and photography. A piece is composed to accompany a series of photographs. Underexposed already features Olan Mill, Hummingbird, Michael Tanner, Corey Allen and Antonymes. Now also my ‘Cloud Observation’ has been added.

I decided to create a small photo series of my cloud observation that I did in the mountains recently. The often ghostly pictures appeared due to an extremely cold and rainy weather period although it was meteorological midsummer. These stills have been taken in various locations on the Tyrolean Alps.

Cloud Observation describes my mood whilst observing clouds, it reflects the impression of looking at the steadily moving sculptures that are formed by temperature, wind layers and the cliffs that collaborate perfectly and shift the clouds slowly and gracefully. The (partly processed) string-based composition is an excerpt of a piece for one of my future releases that I’m currently working on.

August 30th the wonderful Vieo Abiungo album ‘And the world is still yawning’ will be released on Lost Tribe Sound. The highly limited Deluxe Vinyl Edition comes with a vinyl version of the album, along with the 16 track remix CD, housed in a limited edition, hand numbered, handmade paper case, plus you will receive an 18″x18″ full color poster of the cover art. Also, due to the nature of the handmade paper used for the remix CD cases some variations in pattern and color will occur. Remixes are contributed by Field Rotation, Nils Frahm, Aaron Martin, Benoit Pioulard, The Green Kingdom, Tokyo Bloodworm, Upward Arrows, Cock and Swan and others.

The latest release on the Fluid Audio sublabel Facture is y0t0’s ‘Uriarra Road’. y0t0 is the solo project of Charles Sage of Hessien; assisting in construction are guitarist Ben Carter and vocalist/partner Jane Sage. Inspired by the film ‘In The Winter Dark’, Uriarra Road charts the decline of an outback town chasing survival as industry money crawls back to the city limits; left in its place is a confused and aging collective memory, drunk on nostalgia and the feral rantings of a right wing press.

Helping y0t0 map the town in question are Downliners Sekt, Jasper TX, Ghosting Season, Field Rotation, Spheruleus, Relmic Statute and Seaworthy, all of whom navigate the intersections and resentful front rooms of Uriarra Road with skeletal reinterpretations of the main street. Mastered by Taylor Deupree.

The highly limited CD Edition of Acoustic Tales - released through Fluid Audio January 31st - sold out in a couple of hours. Now Denovali releases the 2xLP Edition of my first full-length Album and I’m happy to announce that it’s available for pre-order through the Denovali Mailorder now. Available on black vinyl (300 copies) there are also two limited Editions of 100 copies each: one coming on ultraclear vinyl with black/white splatter, the other coming on a grey/black effected vinyl. The artwork has been created with photographs by Antonymes who already delivered the booklet photographs for the limited CD Edition. Thanks again to everyone included - Daniel from Fluid, Timo and Thomas from Denovali, Danny Norbury, Nils Frahm, Ian Hazeldine and all those that give their love and support to me and my music.

In line with the Acoustic Tales 2xLP Denovali releases my first 10” vinyl - you might call it a ‘single’. As Regenzeit and Regenzeit II were released on different various artist compilations (Hope on Fluid Audio and Imaginary Friends on Ultimae Records) we finally got these two Regenzeit versions connected to a single vinyl so that this is now available to be pre-ordered through the Denovali Mailorder in two different Editions. The black Edition is limited to 200 copies (not to be re-pressed) in a thick matte and special 3D print cover. Also coming in the thick matte and special 3D print cover there will be a clear gold 10” vinyl Edition limited to 100 copies (also not to be re-pressed).

This is the first time that I can proudly announce a piece exclusively written and produced for an illustrated work. I was asked to compose a short piece of music for ‘The Book of Revelation’, a graphic eBook illustrated by the wonderful artist Christopher Koelle (who also is responsible for the amazing album artwork of the Desire Path Recordings vinyls for example). It was a real pleasure to work with him and the revelationapp.com team. Regarding the theme of the book and the amazing drawings (the final version will be illustrated with ca. 600 drawings by the way) I was asked to compose a piece that should be like a more sacred ‘Acoustic Tale’, a scoring of hope. Honestly, I was delighted by this challenging request so that I immediately agreed. So here you can stream the teaser “Hope Everlasting” - the result of our work:
